Advocates

FLOOD is led by a group of ADVOCATES who fully embrace and determine the vision and mission of FLOOD. ADVOCATES serve as shepherds, take primary responsibility for various dimensions of our life together, and represent FLOOD publicly.

ADVOCATES:

JAMES PIERINI and his wife Monica came to Flood through unusual circumstances, but what has been most unusual is just how much being a part of this community has impacted their walk with Christ. As a fifth-generation Sacramentan, James has a real passion for the future of our city and actively seeks ways to be involved in the local community. James graduated from Sac State with a BA in Philosophy. Although being a trainer for Apple, Inc is his profession, James prefers to spend his time engrossed in all things music. His favorite band is Radiohead, his favorite album is Bob Dylan’s Highway 61 Revisited and his favorite song is Miles Davis’ “So What.” If you are still curious as to who James is, he’s the guy who laughs really loud in church when Sean cracks a decent joke. He and Monica reside in Midtown. Their house in blue.

ALEX TYANNIKOV works as a Project Manager for Breathe California, a non-profit that advocates for clean air and against air-pollution related diseases. He was born in Uzbekistan (formerly a part of USSR) and came to the US in early 90’s. At Fresno Pacific University he studied social science and worked for the school after graduation. He and his wife, Olga decided to move back to Sacramento to be closer to family. Alex enjoys reading, talking philosophically about pretty much anything, and spending time with his family. For the Tyannikovs, being part of the Flood community has been both painful and healing on many levels. As they journey, Alex and Olga do so with two daughters, Eva and Tessa. They live in Midtown.

ADAM GOTHARD has been a participant in the FLOOD community for nearly five years and has served in a number of capacities from technical support to counselor and friend. A graduate of Sacramento State University, Adam received his degree in in Computer Science and currently works locally as a Programmer Analyst. He has also served in a variety of ways with Sacramento’s InterVarsity Fellowship. His favorite food is his mother’s lasagna and his loyal companion is his dog, Brody. Adam lives in Sacramento with several others members of the community.

SEAN RANDALL is the Lead Advocate and founding pastor of the FLOOD community. Sean is a native of Sacramento and lives in North Natomas with his wife Jessica and their boys Kai and Laken. For more then a decade, Sean has been a part of developing faith communities and training, mobilizing, and deploying followers of Jesus. He is a graduate of San Diego State and earned his Masters of Divinity from Bethel Seminary in 2004. He served in Malawi Africa teaching at the African Bible College. Sean also currently serves as the Teaching Pastor at SAAM. Although a native of Northern California, Sean is currently exploring and discovering the many hidden adventures this region offers. One of those is kayaking the many different bodies of water.

JANNA MARLIES SANTORO A self-proclaimed “woman in progress,” Janna is most passionate about the power of the written word and the way that God manifests himself in the creativity of those around her. She sees herself as something of a creative curator — a facilitator, if you will. She enjoys almost nothing more than piecing together smaller componenets (both tangiable and abstract) and rearanging them until they meld into a larger, cohesive whole. On any given day, you might find Janna zipping from the SAAM/Flood office where she serves as part-time administrator, to Sacramento City College where she teaches writing part-time, to any number of coffee shops within walking distance from her Midtown abode where she attempts to get paid for freelance writing and/or editing — all this on the now-famous Scottie Scooterson. If you’re interested (and it’s ok if you’re not), you can keep up with Janna’s various and sundry escapades here.

RYAN WALTON has been serving FLOOD alongside Sean since its launch in 2004. A graduate of Biola University, Ryan has traveled, taught, and ushered in creative forms of public/private worship for communities all over the world. He brings a unique voice and creative edge to the FLOOD community here in Sacramento. Ryan on staff with FLOOD as well as with a fruit grower out of Cupertino, CA. He and his wife Samantha live in a Cabin in East Sac with Erik, Anna, Ezra, and Leon the dog. Ryan also likes the rain. He blogs here.
